I am using the latest version (3.0.0.8) of GeniusConnect and am having the following problems;

I am trying to export Outlook (2002) mail to an SQL database, this works fine for my private inbox, however if I try to store emails from my work's public folders, it allows me to complete the setup successfully, however no toolbar options (Save, Load etc) are active after setup is complete for any folder. I cannot store any of the emails from these public folders!

Also, I can access the public folders in Outlook no problems, then if I go into GeniusConnect setup, click on the Database tab, it begins to load all the mail folders, but cannot load them all, only some (is it possible it is timing out?.....and if so, how can I change this timeout value?). Then when I close the GeniusConnect setup to go back to the Outlook screen, I cannot access the contents of the folders that GeniusConnect could not read. I have to close down Outlook and restart it. This is very frustrating and unfortunately I purchased the software for the purpose of storing the public folder emails......something I cannot do.

I hope you can help.

Regards,
Glenn

Hi,

if you are using the toolbarbuttons, the folder must be selected. Only if a folder is selected (and linked) the buttons load/store etc are enabled. (only the config button is always enabled).

We have no time out on loading folders, but you can hit any key during the load to cancel it.

See also help topic "Advanced registry settings"

and see :
Disable Folder scan
To disable scan (in Folder Tree:Configuration Dialog->Database tab->Folder Tree) of slow folders, for example remote exchange folders etc. (will also disable all subfolders).

Thanks for your quick response.

I had always ensured that the public folder was selected when I went to do the Load. I had also tried this on several other public folders, but they all did not allow any of the toolbar options to become active even after successful setup. This problem only seems to occur with the public folders as I performed the exact same steps on folders within my own inbox and I it all worked perfectly (all toolbar options were active).

Could it be a license issue? I have a single user license, does this limit you to only your own inbox and not public folders?

I also noticed that some outlook fields are missing when I setup a public folder, for example "SenderEmailAddress" is not there (which is of course quite important for our needs). However if I copy the public folder to my Inbox and set it up there, it appears! Any ideas why this would happen?

Thanks again.

Hi,

this problem is new for us. Is it some special public folder? What happens when you use auto scheduler?
