I have a perfectly working setup using Outlook 2003, but when I try and recreate a similar regime using Outlook 2007 to synch to a database I cannot get the "body" of a calendar entry across to the mysql database. As far as I can see the main text in a calendar entry is stored in a field now called "message" - but this doesn't show up on the Genius list of outlook fields. There doesn't appear to be anything in "body" at all?

Am I being really stupid?

I tried to get round it by making some user defined fields in Outlook, and then writing to those, and synching - but again no data is uploaded although all the fields show up in "assign table" screen and can be assoiated with fields on the mysql database. The subject line and dates synch OK - but seemingly nothing else.

In Outlook 2007 (and XP, 2003), you have 2 body fields,
Body
plain text body field (no font, formating etc)

HTMLBody
Same field, but with all formatting font etc..

I realise that - if I use the body html field I do get something transferred - but it is script and MS headers - but no body text, if I use body nothing is transferred?

What are the values in the database Body column? Is it plain text or formated text?

Are you using latest GeniusConnect version (3.0.1.1SP1)?

http://www.grafham.org/events/ ) (NB it does need a script to run on the server to update the related tables - eg the calendar - but as this is a one-way synch (ie outlook->mysql) all we do is run the script once we've Saved the entries - one day I'll get round to programming that within Genius drect) - and I'm trying to do that for a second calendar (albeit for testing purposes running from a different machine) and although I've recreated everything from the working system, it won't now work on the trial system.

No, but you can use OutlookSpy:

With OutlookSpy you can see all properties of an Item.

I was testing between sync Outlook 2003 Calendar and Outlook 2007 Calendar , no problems.

Outlook spy won't install onto Outlook 2007/Vista it seems - maybe I'll have to wait!

Can you mail us (TechSupport @ geniusconnect.com) your mySQL table and some data, and your mappings (Export button)?
