hi!i've defined a custom mdb(2000)-field messageclass as a mandatory field with the same sql-expression just like as the primary key.
the name of my form for all items is: ipm.contact.gesundheitswesen. after storing all items to the access database and loading back and so on, some items have suddenly the name of the standard form like ipm.contact, what leads to the situation, that some items were not updated but inserted twice or more, which fills up my database dramatically. the field messageclass is linked with the required field in the assigned table correctly.
i've allready installed your software again as well as i did it with ol2003 incl. sp1. i also tried to integrate your demo-database, but the same error happens.
all items are defined as ipm.contact.gesundheitswesen correctly. due to this circumstances i'm not very satisfied, because i don't really know how many duplicates my database has, which leads to a lot of problems. therefor i urgently need your support regarding this error. thx bst rgds hans

and again the same. after storing all items (which are already converted as ipm.contact.gesundheitswesen in ol2003) to the database, the field messageclass is filled with ipm.contact instead with the regulary customized form. ipm.contact.gesundheitswesen.what's going on? my database is growing and growing.... ;o(

Please remove select max(OCS_messageclass) + 1 from CONTACTS from mandatory keys, this will never work.

that is what i've exactly done before, but the same thing happens if it is without the sql statement. should i leave messageclass as a mandatory key?

the messageclass outlook field has always a value.
If you have already database records with an empty Message class field, update the field with your message class.
Example:
update MyContacts set messageclass='IPM.MyContactForm'

explanation:
'select max(OCS_messageclass) + 1...' is sql statement for numeric column to generate unique key,
for char column this will result in senseless values.
messageclass value is not unique, it is a form description, in most cases contacts will have the same form description.

You will link this field only when your contact are using different form description (not default)

If you are loading records from database with non default form description, the form must be defined in Outlook!

-Please check also your setting on Options tab
"Only Insert and do..." has to be unchecked!

-if your database already has duplicates, these duplicates will be inserted into Outlook!


We have received your mdb but it has been blocked by outlook, please zip the mdb and email it again, we will check your setup.



Default outlook values for contact is IPM.Contact

You can leave the messageclass as a mandatory column, but don't assign a sql statement to it in assign table dialog.

If you are creating records in your database from some other application then through GeniusConnect assign the column default value like IPM.Contact.MyTestContactForm...
