Hi This might be a silly question.....

I have installed Genius Connect on my local PC sync'ing an SQL database with an Outlook Exchnage contact database in a public folder. I have a 25 user license of GC. I have 15 users all using Outlook accessing both the Outlook contact database fro adding, modifying and delteing records. The same users will be doing the same to the SQL database.

Do these users need to have Genius connect installed locally on each of there PC's for this to work?

Hello,

No, don't sync same public folder from multiple location. You can also install GeniusConnect on one dedicated PC and sync unattended.

This scenario can be also used for user mailbox-folders, please see examples:
How to synchronize multiple MS Exchange user accounts from one dedicated PC/Server with MS Outlook and GeniusConnect.

Thanks for this but I had already read the artical....but still have this issue:

When another non-Genius isntalled Outlook user adds a new record into the Exchange contact database my PC with Genius installed/configured gets an error:

"user name Items has empty primary key(s)! Without primary keys it is not possible to find the item in the database."

My PC works fine as I have Genius connect installed and the primary key setup corectly.

Does this mean all my users must have GC installed and configured to add the new datbase item?

Cheers
JM

What is your SQL Statement for primary key generation (Assign Table->Mandatory Keys)

"Cannot open for R/W event log."
Are you running on Vista?

No not running on Vista - thank heavens :-)

My primary/Mand Keys = db feild idPeople, type = Primary, SQL state (blank), Identity Auto Increment (because my table auto insets a record id number into idPeople.

SQL blank? You must enter a SQL Statement to get the primary key value!
