Hello,
What would be the best way of installing the software, on the Exchange Server, Active Directory Server or on the 4 Citrix servers
I will use a dedicated PC, and sync all 42 mailboxes from one install, instead of installing GeniusConnect for every user.
MS Exchange examples: How to synchronize multiple MS Exchange user accounts from one dedicated PC/Server with MS Outlook and GeniusConnect.
https://www.geniusconnect.com/demosexamples/ Please Note:
Microsoft does not support installing Exchange Server components and Outlook on the same computer on Exchange 2003 or lower versions
See Micorsoft article 266418:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/266418 It is supported to install Outlook 2007 on the same computer on which you have installed Exchange 2007.
Next how to get the GeniusConnect toolbar in Outlook for the 42 mailboxes. Bear in mind that when a user connects to the Citrix environment they can be connected to anyone of the 4 servers depending on load balance. I noticed that GeniusConnect creates HKEY_CURRENT_USER key entries in the Registry. Does GeniusConnect use the AD profile or the Registry on each Citrix Server?
GeniusConnect uses registry.
Can the registration process be copied from 1 mailbox to all the others? (saves having to enter the license key info 42+ times)
Yes, you can use auto deployment, please see help topic: Automatic Deployment
Please Note: You don't need this when using dedicated PC to sync all users from one PC!
Can the configuration process be copied from 1 mailbox to all the others?
Yes, you can use the auto deployment (auto linking the folder) or manual Export/Import, help topic: Export / Import settings.
When you use dedicated PC, you can config one user folder, a then copy all settings to other folders, using the
“Copy Profile To” button.
