Does OutlookConnect support custom contacts forms?

It is in fact inherent to Outlook:
"Outlook saves the form design with each contact. The form design of existing contacts is not changed when a new form becomes the default form for a contact folder." But there is a work-around: the Microsoft Outlook 2000 "Existing Items Converter" (for folder-based conversion) and the Outlook 2000 "Forms Administrator" that let's you substitute a custom form for a default form instead of replacing forms on a folder-by-folder basis.
So the last one is a solution (seen from administrator perspective): the forms administrator allows to 'spread around' the new default form (as registry setting) to the users in the organisation.
The OutlookConnect uses then also while importing the 'new default form' (there is even no need anymore to change the form that should be used 'when posting to this folder' because the message class item (in our case the contact class) is 'replaced' on registry level). The forms administrator allows to switch it easily back to the default.
This as info.

New Features version 1.0.2.5
Message class (form description)
Outlook® field form description can be linked to a field. This is helpful for using custom forms.

Hello,

Could you maybe elaborate this answer a bit more?
I'm trying to create a custom contact form, which includes more fields from our database, but when assigning the form as the standard for eg. the MSO 2000 Contacts folder, Genius Connect still ignores this, and uses the standard Contact-form.

If you are using custom form, you have to assign the Message class (form description) Outlook field to database column.
The custom-form, has to exist when loading items from database into an Outlook folder.

Please see microsoft documentation about custom-form and how to publish it.

If user 1 stores the custom form in the database and user 2 loads the contact, but the form is unknown in his installation, Outlook will use default form.

Note about posting 08 Jan 2004 : 20:58:30:
support for storing/loading "Message class (form description)" was implemented after this message has been posted.
This solution can still be used if "Message class (form description)" is not assigned to a database column.
